Perpetual trophies are awarded at the Jenny Camp Event for the highest-placed MCTA member at each level.  To be eligible for these lovely trophies riders must be MCTA members before the competition begins, so be sure your membership is up to date at least by the time you pick up your entry packet!!!  You have to be a Member to win: Join Now!

Jenny Camp, pictured above, was foaled at the storied U.S. Army Remount Station in Front Royal, Virginia in 1926. Later, at the equally storied Advanced Equitation School at Fort Riley, Kansas, she was paired with Col Earl F. “Tommy” Thompson.  In the days when eventing was known as “The Military” and all contestants were cavalry officers, the pair distinguished themselves by winning individual silver and team gold at the 1932 Olympics in Los Angeles and repeating for individual silver at the 1936 Games in Berlin—the best Olympic record of any American horse to date.  Later, as eventing transitioned to a civilian sport in the 1960s, the U.S. Combined Training Association [now the USEA] briefly designated its introductory level the “Jenny Camp” division.
