Located in the heart of Area II eventing, A Bit Better Farm is a full-service equestrian training facility owned and managed by Kelley Williams and Pat Mansfield. A Bit Better Farm moved to its current Brookeville, Maryland location in late 2005. The farm has provided not only a place to develop a top-notch equestrian program but also has given so much of the extended family place to grow and be together.
As head trainer, Kelley concentrates on the training, competing and sales of event horses, in addition to teaching students how to get the most out of their relationship with their equine partners. While the farm focuses on eventing, Kelley welcomes horses and students of all disciplines and experience levels.
Brothers Angelo Di Biasi and Ralph Di Biasi have owned several successful and community-adored restaurants over the years. From small comforting pizza shops to larger scale Italian and Mediterranean cuisine, their skill and knowledge of good food, savvy business sense and friendly demeanor has fostered many loyal followers.
Both Angelo and Ralph worked with their father in restaurants that he built and owned from the time they were 10 years old. They grew up around traditional Italian food, flavors and techniques in both the restaurant and home setting. Not only was their father an amazing cook, wine maker and restaurateur, their mother has always made her own fresh pastas and sauces as well as jarring and pickling her own vegetables. Fresh ingredients from the garden and great wine always graced the family table in their home as young boys and it is no different today at their homes and their restaurants.
Dovecote Equestrian at Dodon is owned and operated by Janice Binkley. Janice Binkley’s professional career started at seven years old, taking weekly lessons at a local stable. She soon joined Pony Club, eventually achieving the “A” certification, the highest attainable Pony Club level and becoming one of Jim Wofford’s first students after his brief retirement, along with high-caliber equestrians such as Lucinda Green, Donnan Monk, Eric Herbeman, and Eric Smiley. At the pinnacle of her Eventing career, Janice reached the horse trials in one and two star events, training all of her own mounts. Galloping racehorses at Larking Hill Farm, Janice trained off the track Thoroughbreds (OTTBs), many of which have gone on to have highly successful second careers in Eventing. Serving 15 years on the board of the Marlborough Horse Trials at Rosaryville, Janice served as the cross country coordinator during that time, working closely with esteemed course designer Roger Haller to design and construct cross country courses for the trial. In 2018, Janice took over direction of Dodon Farm, the former home of the Retired Racehorse Project, turning the focus to be a high-quality teaching facility for amateurs and professionals alike. With 35 years of teaching experience, Janice has a passion for instructing adult amateur riders and helping them pursue their goals.

What is Bits and Bridles fitting about? It's about safety, style, and the perfect fit.
Often we struggle when we are riding - searching for that right feel of connection with our horse. We often are very careful to have our saddles fit by a professional fitter - but how often do we look to our bit or bridle for what’s missing in the connection?
Regardless of your level of riding, your horse will perform better for you if he is comfortable in his bit and bridle. Is your bridle something that needs adjustment - or do you need a different style to accommodate a specific type of head? Is he comfortable in his bit that you are using? Do you need to try a different size or different bit action altogether?
There are so many modern types of bits that have been researched and designed by companies specifically to address certain needs of horse and rider. Pam is here to help you navigate that journey and find the best possible combination of bit and bridle that makes your horse comfortable and you as effective a rider as you can be.
