Perpetual Trophies

MCTA currently awards 58 perpetual trophies each year, the oldest first presented in 1972 and the most recent in 2025. Winners receive a “keeper” trophy and have their names engraved on the original. Each trophy has its own “page” which includes a picture of the trophy, information (including photos where available) about the donor/namesake, and a list of all previous winners. To see the pages, click on the trophy names below.

For historical purposes, pages for retired trophies are also shown; their names are in italics.

VOLUNTEERS

We would not be able to provide quality horse trials, clinics, and activities without the assistance of our amazing and dedicated volunteers and acknowledge that reward and recognition of these services are critical to the retention of volunteers in the organization.

The Ruth Frey Volunteer Trophy (awarded by MCTA to an outstanding very longtime volunteer)
The Edward K. Johnson Memorial Trophy (donated by MCTA to the MD 5* at Fair Hill for their “volunteer-of-the-year”)
